Intervention

At Tambrey we utilise intensive intervention for students who, through screening, do not meet the minimum required reading level for thier age. We employ four intervention Education Assistants and use the MultiLit program (Making Up for Lost Time in Literacy) which is evidence based and proven to meet the needs of students who require intervention.

MiniLit (Meeting Initial Needs in Literacy) which is a small group reading program for students in the bottom 25% of the expected range for their age group in Year 1, 2 & 3. The program provides explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, systematic synthetic phonics for reading and spelling, letter formation, and connected text reading.

MacqLit is an explicit and systematic reading intervention program for small groups of older low-progress readers. This intervention is used for students in Years 4, 5 & 6. It provides teachers with a comprehensive sequence of lessons that includes all the key components necessary for effective reading instruction: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.
