Learning Enrichment & Achievement Program

Provides the opportunity for students’ years 1-6 to engage within extension programs across a range of learning areas throughout the year. Students for LEAP courses are selected using a combination of school data (e.g., PAT Testing, On entry Testing, NAPLAN) and teacher recommendation.

LEAP programs are designed with the students in mind and past programs have included topics such as 3D Printing, Microbits, Make Your Own Storybook Competition, Mindcraft Projects, Lino Art and Micro Plastics. Community groups & external agencies are engaged to work with LEAP students to develop specialist skills such as Python coding with Scitech, literacy through drama with Barking Gecko Theatre and puppet making based on local creation stories from the Yindjibarndi culture, supported by the Juluwarlu Group Aboriginal Corporation.

Year 4 students Maths LEAP students are prepared for future Mathematical extension by engaging in The Maths Challenge Program, Have Sum Fun online and project-based mathematics.
